The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya season 2 US release details

Well, it’s about time. We finally have a US release date for  the Season 2 box set and it is August 17, 2010.

It will include both English and Japanese voices, English ssubtitles, location scouting videos, Behind the scenes of a music video by Aya Hirano, promo videos, commercials, all the episodes of the Adventures of the ASOS Brigade, and a CD with the opening and ending.

MSRP is $64.98, but we all know it will be cheaper on most sites anyways. Hell, Amazon already has it listed for $44.99

This is a day 1 purchase for me, thats for sure. And it seems there are plenty of people excited for the release on facebook and a couple of the forums I have been on, even if Endless eight is on there. But, we will find out how many people actually buy it come August.

Yen Plus To Go Out Of Print

But it will be online for free. They have just decided to go to an ad based service online to cut down on cost and to make the kids that refuse to buy anything happy. They be publishing the individual manga volumes though, so don’t worry, they aren’t taking everything off the shelves.

As for people that subscribed, you will get your money back. So everyone is happy in a way. I myself am saddened to see another manga anthology magazine going out. But I guess as long as the company stays, it will be fine.

The Disappearance Of Haruhi Suzumiya Licensed By Bandai

More great Haruhi news announced today. Bandai has licensed The Disappearance Of Haruhi Suzumiya for US release later this year.

Bandai has once again proven to be great to me.

Currently the only place it is announced for theatrical release is Hawaii. Not really sure if this is the only state, but if it is, that sucks.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Season 2 Officially Announced For US Release

Well, after all the teaser videos and page source stuff, they have finally announced that the second season will be coming out in the US sometime soon. The best part is that it is a box set.

As I am sure most of you have realized I am a big fan of Haruhi, so I will buy whatever they release that is related to this. Hopefully we will see a collectors edition or a BluRay release too. But either way, I am just glad I won’t have to wait for too much longer to finally watch season 2, even if that means watching Endless Eight (which I think might be interesting unlike some)

K-On! And Haruhi-Chan Manga Licensed Along With Bungaku Shoujo Novel

Yen Press has announced today that it has acquired K-On!, the Haruhi-Chan manga, and the first light novel of Bungaku Shoujo. All I can say is that I am excited about all 3.

I myself normally only get certain manga since I am typically turned off by the chaotic mess that is an action scene in manga, but being able to get K-on! and Haruhi-chan is great. Bungaku Shoujo is another thing I am looking forward too since it is a light novel. Light novels tend to hold my interest more than manga since they take longer to complete and I can picture it in my mind the way I want to see.

Currently Bungaku Shoujo is set for July, Haruhi-Chan is set for October, and K-On! is set for November.

The Disappearance Of Haruhi Suzumiya Theme Song Music Video Posted

I don’t really like this song, but that might be because I am so used to more upbeat songs being paired with Haruhi Suzumiya. But, I guess it matches the film.

The Borrowers To Be Ghibli’s Next Movie

The next Ghibli film was announced and it will be based on the 57 year old novel of the same name by Mary Norton. It will follow 14-year-old Arriety and her family who are literally little people. The measure about 4 inches tall and live under the floor boards in people’s houses.

I don’t think I can remember a Ghibli movie that has been bad, so I am looking forward to this one. It comes out in Japan this coming summer, but we have a Ghibli film coming out in the US around the same time. Tales from Earthsea will be fitting on July 30, 2010. It too looks to be a great movie.

Susan Boyle + Anime = WTF?

Since I haven’t found a WTF online in a while, here is one for you. Eagle Talon, a comedy anime coming out in Japan this January, will be using the above song by Susan Boyle in it…

Yeah, I can’t describer the serious WTFness going on in Japan right now. Many thing  they have done have confused me, but this is more like, a complete nipple twister done with greasy pizza slices.

People think her voices is great, but I am kinda annoyed by it. It just wasn’t good to me. Reminded me of the lion from the Wizard of Oz.

Oh well, Japan may love to confuse people, but their confusing ideas are what normally entertain me.
