The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya season 2 US release details

Well, it’s about time. We finally have a US release date for  the Season 2 box set and it is August 17, 2010.

It will include both English and Japanese voices, English ssubtitles, location scouting videos, Behind the scenes of a music video by Aya Hirano, promo videos, commercials, all the episodes of the Adventures of the ASOS Brigade, and a CD with the opening and ending.

MSRP is $64.98, but we all know it will be cheaper on most sites anyways. Hell, Amazon already has it listed for $44.99

This is a day 1 purchase for me, thats for sure. And it seems there are plenty of people excited for the release on facebook and a couple of the forums I have been on, even if Endless eight is on there. But, we will find out how many people actually buy it come August.

The Disappearance Of Haruhi Suzumiya Licensed By Bandai

More great Haruhi news announced today. Bandai has licensed The Disappearance Of Haruhi Suzumiya for US release later this year.

Bandai has once again proven to be great to me.

Currently the only place it is announced for theatrical release is Hawaii. Not really sure if this is the only state, but if it is, that sucks.

Haruhi Has Now Invaded Crunchyroll

Well, now Haruhi is available to all without the need  to steal it like many people will surely do anyways. Crunchyroll has added the original Haruhi anime to it’s line-up.

While this isn’t much help for me (I already have all the DVDs) it is helpful for those who haven’t seen it and are trying to save money. Hopefully this will get more people excited about the coming DVD release of Season 2.

Currently the first 4 episodes are  up, the rest will be up later next week.

True Haruhi Season 2 Cast Announcement

Well, I guess I was wrong about the cast. But I don’t mind. I enjoyed the original Haruhi dub and definitely liked the original English Yuki more.

For those who don’t want to watch the video and never saw season 1, here is a list of the VAs for main characters.

Kyon- Crispin Freeman

Haruhi- Wendee Lee

Yuki- MIchelle Ruff

Mikuru- Stephanie Sheh

Itsuke- Johnny Yong Bosch

SO yeah, even though Cristina Vee won’t be Haruhi, I am still happy since I know the dub will be good. But after all this, I wonder if Bandai will be using the English version of the opening that Cristina did or or if they are just using that as part of the promotional videos.

Haruhi Season 2 English Cast Confirmation?

Well, if the video above is true the cast for the females are as follows

Haruhi Suzumiya – Cristina Vee

Mikuru Asahina – Karrie Shirou

Yuki Nagato – Gina Li

Though, Gina and Karrie may just be people filling in as cosplayers, so they may or may not be the Voice actresses for those 2 characters. I can’t guarantee Cristina either.

But, either way, they sounded decent, but I will be royally pissed if Crispin Freeman (Kyon) and Johnny Yong Bosch (Itsuke Koizumi) are replaced. Just saying Bandai may have to watch out if something happens to them being in the cast.

Cristina Vee Replacing Wendee Lee As Haruhi For Season 2?

What do you think, they block out her face, but the hair and skin tone matches Cristina’s, so it seems that way. Not that I would mind, I mean, she has an amazing  voice thats for sure. Just listen to her sing the Haruhi season 2 opening below.

While I will miss Wendee Lee if she is replaced, I will be happy that they got another quality VA. But, if they replace Crispin Freeman, then somebody’s ass will be beatin’ quite hard.

Even More Proof Of Haruhi Season 2 Licensed For US Release?

That image, the fact that the font color for the text is #888888, and they are saying that the site is under construction again. Sound a little suspicious to me. Maybe we will be getting it soon.

You can find it here on the official website.

Let’s just hope this isn’t some elaborate troll set up by Bandai and Kadokawa.

I Wouldn’t mind Seeing This Movie If Someone Really Were To Make It

I don’t remember if I posted this or not, but it still makes me laugh when I watch it.

Haruhi Season 2 Licensed For US Release?

This and the  fact that the source for the US Haruhi page has a rather long line of 8s (they are Japanese 8s) leads me to believe somethign is up. Bandai does have some rather odd marketing ideas sometimes, just look at Kannagi.

If you want to see the 8s, just go here and look at the source code. I will trust you know how too… Never mind, I won’t so I will just tell you.

In Firefox, click view, and choose page source. It’s that simple. Internet Explorer users don’t get an explanation because it sucks.

Casshern Sins Also Licensed By FUNimation

CasshernSinsI missed this announcement, even though it was in the video of FUNimatio’s panel. Who cares, it’s not like I get paid for this.

Casshern Sins is about a android sent to assassinate Luna, a girl that the humans summoned. He kills her, but then the shit hits the fan. Things go crazy, and he gets knocked out for a couple centuries. Now, he finally reawakens, no memories, and everyone hates him. Can he fix things? You will have to watch to find out.

Set for an early 2010 release, expect 2 12 episode parts to be released by FUNi.

Kinda excited about this, it does seem interesting. Plus, Capcom seemed to like it enough to make Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom and include Casshern as a character.

Well, I think this is probably gonna be the last Otakon 2009 post, but, who knows, I may discover something interesting from it on youtube.

Not the most exciting video, but, who cares.

Great Day In Erik Land

kannagi3Kannagi was announced and released at the same time, Otakon is about to start, and I had ice cream.

This summer may not have been the one where i get a job, but, so far, anime has been great. So, hopefully they can keep it up with a license announcement of Toradora at Otakon this year. That would be awesome, especially if it is a quick release like Kannagi was.

Though, Kannagi came with a loss. I now only have a pile of pennies again. But, I can live with it for a day or too. I might even have more within the next couple of weeks too if I can get a job at IGA. That would be awesome, even though it’s unlikely.

Other than that, nothing else has happened. So, I think I will go watch Umi Monogatari episode 2 now. I might even re-watch Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan again since i can finish that in one sitting. Nahh, I wil lsave that for tomorrow or sunday.

Kannagi Finally Released In The US!

kannagiFinally, my wishes have come true. Kannagi has finally been announced for US release!

Bandai, I have to thank you for this fantastic announcement. The best part is that starting sometime today, or tomorrow, you can order the first DVD volume from RightStuf or Amazon! AnimeNewsNetwork even has the first episode up and streaming.

Kannagi is the story of a goddess who is reincarnated from a sacred tree when Jin carves it into the shape of a shrine maiden. The shrine maiden was someone he met long ago by that same tree. So, instead of throwing her out, she starts living with him and so it begins.

Now, I will chronicle my journey of how i found this announcement.

kannagi1When this website showed up online, I started to think that we would be getting Kannagi in the US. Though, when Anime Expo came along, and FUNimation didn’t announce it, I started thinking it may be just for no reason. I thought FUNi would have grabbed this as fast as they could since it is so awesome.

kannagi2Then, I found this website through AnimeNewsNetwork. All I could figure was that it was for an announcement. Couldn’t figure out what though since the silhouettes were basically making go, WTF? Here are the links to each one that appeared. Image 1, image 2, image 3, image 4, image 5, and image 6.

I didn’t come to the conclusion that this was related to Kannagi until last week when the Fan Club site said that a special message would be here on this day. So I waited. The week was long since I was trying to figure out what this cryptic message could mean. I never expected this though.

Finally, the countdown ends and I get this.

kannagi2I can finally order my Kannagi DVD that I so dearly wanted. Thank you again, Bandai. You are now my Favorite US anime company. Not only do you bring me Haruhi, and Lucky Star, but now I even get Kannagi.

You too can see the amazing thing that is Kannagi here at the Fan Club.
