I Officially Hate Fullmetal Alchemist Now!

PLEASE NOTE: This is by no means a high quality post, in fact, it is probably one of the shittiest I have done. There will more than likely be grammatical errors, run on sentences, and things that probably make no sense what so ever, but frankly, I don’t give a flying dog shit out of a rats ass since I do it for free and mostly for MY entertainment. More than likely, you will walk away if you read the whole thing thinking I am crazy and just nerd raged all over myself.

So, as you can see from the title of this post, I hate FMA now. Used to like it, but now I hate it. Mostly because it get  ratings that are too high, everyone who calls themselves an anime fan just because they watch FMA on Adult Swim, and because it uses the same tired old joke of “I AM NOT SHORT!” religiously.Oh, and it is partially because I started to attempt to re-watch it since my brother bought the first half of the original FMA, but I ended up just stopping because it was way to boring to me. Maybe I have changed over the years since it has been roughly 4 years since I last watched it, but it was just boring.

First, I will start off by addressing the rating. As you can see from my screen cap above, it has an average of 9.15 while Clannad ~After Story~ (a far superior show) has a rating of 9.07. I wouldn’t have cared that my favorite anime is #5 had FMA Brotherhood been below it, but what bothers me is the fact the FMA Brotherhood is at the top. I mean fuck shit balls, how many people from Adult Swim came and rated it that high? Because it sure as hell wasn’t like that before it came on Adult Swim. All the people that rated it 10 and 9 need to watch something other than AS, and if they watch a lot more anime, and still find FMA that good, then it is alright since they broadened their horizon. But most of the ratings came from the anime fans who only watch what comes on AS forgetting they can buy plenty from RightStuf and Amazon.

Now for the anime fans who have only seen FMA and think they are true fans. You aren’t, but you can be, all you gotta do is watch something else other than Adult Swim. This is one thing that pissed me off when I was in high school.

Everyone in the school knew me as the king anime watcher/gamer. Seriously, everyone knew that when I went home, that’s all I did, so I had quite a few of the AS only fans try to talk to me about anime, a lot. So, when I went off naming things like Toradora, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, Clannad or Slayers, they looked at me like “WTF are those?” But if I were to mention Death Note, I was met with “HOLY SHIT! I FUCKING LOVE ELIMINATING PEOPLE WITH MY DEATH NOTE LIKE LIGHT!” *pulls out crappy home made death note* “SEE, ISN’T IT AWESOME!?!?” I myself like Death Note and all, but not that much. Damn it, I just realize I typed most of this paragraph with mentioning FMA. Well, you can essentially replace the underlined words with FMA related one to get the same thing.

And the retarded “I AM NOT SHORT!” joke, well, it was kinda funny the first time, the 1000th time after that, it wasn’t.

So, that was my rather crappy post about why I hate FMA now. I don’t expect anyone to actually find it of quality since I did it while tired and having to go to the bathroom really badly.

FUNimation licenses Rosario Vampire, Chrome Shelled Regios, Chaos;HEAd and 3 others

Well, FUNimation has once again licensed some more anime for us to wait nearly a year to buy. But, I don’t care since at least there is still anime coming out in the US, even if we do have to wait forever when it isn’t Bandai or Sentai getting  them.

FUNi has announced at their Anime Central panel that they have picked up both seasons  of Rosario + Vampire, Chrome Shelled Regios, Chaos;HEAd, GUNxSWORD, Sora no Otoshimono, and Rideback.

Currently, all titles, except Chrome Chelled Regios and GUNxSWORD, are set to ship in 2011. The other 2 will be out this year. No word on whether they will see a BluRay release though.

Many people have probably already seen Sora no Otoshimono on Crunchyroll, but it is now taken down since Kadokawa only agreed to have it up for the Simulcast. But oh well, you can see it later when it is released on DVD. FUNi will probably release it on their website too, so for the free but legal crowd, there will probably be a way. those who refuse legal ways though, they can go and die in a corner. Don’t steal your anime when it is out to be bought.

FUNimation gets Tsubasa: Tokyo Revelations and Thunder Spring Chronicles

Wwll, this was apparently announced back in March, but an official announcement came today. I have yet to see the TV series or movie, so I can’t really comment on whether this is a worth while release. But I know that it was one of the first series to be re-released on BluRay by FUNimation.

Tsubasa is about a world where tons of other CLAMP characters appear in. They do some shit, but I don’t know what the hell that is. I don’t feel like looking it up either, so just buy the series or look up a synopsis on Wikipedia.

Currently, there is no release date set for these to OADs, but I would expect Fall of this year since they are shorter. FUNi may like to take for fucking ever on releases, but I doubt they can for this.

Spice and Wolf II, Eden Of The East Movies, And Chobits Licensed By FUNimation

Well, not too long ago today, FUNi announced 3 more acquisitions. Spice and Wolf II, Eden of the East movies, and Chobits (rescue) were all licensed.

Currently, they are all set for release in 2011 on DVD and BluRay.

Damn, even  a year long wait for a rescued title? FUNi is seriously going to have to start speeding up since Sentai is so fast and is becoming more and more popular.

Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler) Licensed By FUNimation

I had really hoped this would be licensed by Bandai or Sentai since FUNimation has extremely long waits from when they license to when they release. But, I guess I am happy it is licensed at all.

Kuroshitsuji (I will be calling it mostly because thats what I am used to) is about a 12 year old boy (Ciel Phantomhive) who runs a business and his demon butler (Sebastian) who is sworn to protect him.

Of the 5 episodes I saw last year, I really enjoyed it.Can’t wait to complete it when the DVDs come out hopefully later this year, but knowing FUNi, we will have to wait till next year.

FUNi May Not Edit DVD Version of Dance In The Vampire Bund

Well, it now seems FUNiamtion is starting to have some common sense and may not edit the DVD release of Dance In The Vampire Bund. They said they are going to wait for the rest of the episodes to come out before making a final decision, meaning they realized they fucked up and are just trying to make fans like them again.

I hope they won’t, but FUNimation isn’t always the smartest company in my opinion. Really, there isn’t much that they have to worry about. I am pretty sure everything is legal in the US since the characters are all of age and it’s not hardcore porn. Handley may have got screwed over, but without someone trying to release something in the original form, we will never know how far the dumb asses in the legal system will go.

Dance In The Vampire Bund US DVD Release To Be Editted

Well, what do you know, FUNimation is being a fuck ass again. This time they will be censoring Dance IN The Vampire Bund on DVD because “some material may be objectionable to some audiences.” Well, here is the problem, ANIME WATCHERS ARE USED TO “OFFENSIVE” MATERIAL FUNIMATION!

Hopefully the negative stuff from the viewers will convince them not too or the licensees will say no to the edits since this  is completely idiotic and will only lead to more fansub downloads thanwha would initially happen.

FUNimation is full of dumb asses.

Censors = shit

Uncut = great

Baka to Test to Shōkanjū And Dance In The Vampire Bund Licensed By FUNimation

Baka to Test to Shōkanjū, the Hideyoshi fanservice and gag anime has been licensed for simulcast streaming  online by FUNimation along with Loli vampire anime Dance In the Vampire Bund.

Baka to Test will start showing the first 2 episodes on March 5th at 11Am EST along with the first 4 episodes on Vampire Bund. I recommend both shows  to people that enjoy good anime, but those who enjoy things like Naruto, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Digimon should stay away from my Baka to Test so it is not ruined. I’m serious, if you think those 3 shows I just named are really good, quit reading now.

Baka to Test’s FUNi page

Vampire Bund FUNi Page

So glad this is happening since the Fansubs  groups were having the typical fansub drama  to make everyone feel sorry for them. Seriously, they should just start a fansub soap opera since that is how they act most of the time.

Trigun Being Re-Released This Fall on BluRay and DVD By FUNimation

This is the first “new” anime for FUNimation announced at Katsucon this weekend. Vash The Stampede is already returning for a movie in Japan, so maybe this move is a hint that maybe FUNimation has interest in acquiring the rights for that movie.

Currently, the DVD version is set for Fall of this year, but no word on whether that means the BluRay version comes out at the same time. I guess we will find out soon when thye send out the information to retailers for pre-orders.

REMINDER: Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood Begins Airing Tonight

Just reminding everyone that FMA: Brotherhood, the new version of the FMA anime that follows the manga more will be starting it’s TV run tonight on Adult Swim at midnight.

Adult Swim had a dry run for a  couple months since they quit showing new episodes of Bleach to dub the rest, but this will make up for it.

Strike Witches Episodes 1 and 2 Dubbed Posted

If you want to see the episodes, you can watch them here.

I haven’t watched any of them yet, but  I plan to later tonight, so I will update this post with my thoughts on the Dub later on. But  I am hoping for a decent one considering they seem to be pushing Strike Witches more than some shows.

Hey Look, I Was Right About FMA: Brotherhood Coming To Adult Swim

Well, the news that FMA: Brotherhood was first broke here on February 2nd, but even though I sent in a tip to many major website (Japanator linked to my post though, which is another great site that I love.), they didn’t even know the news until LA Angeles weekly put it in their stuff.

But, It has been confirmed on FUNimation’s twitter also. Which can be viewed here.

So yeah, my specialty is information gathering, and that is what I did before everyone else. Such awesome skills that never get put too use though since most people want me to fix things instead. Oh well though, I may not get the credit I deserve, but I am still happy some people read my blog. And I am happy FMA: Brotherhood will be on TV.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood To Be On Adult Swim?

According to my DirecTV guide that got updated about an hour ago, it will be, at least it will be if you are to go based on when the first of possibly 3 new anime are to start showing on Adult Swim.

As of right now, I think I am the only one to have this news, so I feel special.

FMA: Brotherhood was licensed by FUNimation (they also hold the license to the first FMA series) so it isn’t to surprising to see this, but I was still hoping to see the English dub of Vampire Knight first.

Currently, it is set to air on Feb. 14 at 12:00AM (midnight).

Dragon Ball Kai Licensed By FUNimation

Dragon Ball Kai, the shorter more interesting version of Dragon Ball Z, but also without the epic opening Head Cha-La, is going to be released this year.

WHY MUST THEY GIVE ME SO MANY DAMN OPTIONS! Seriously, 3 different versions released in the US so far. I was gonna start buying the Dragon Box releases, but now I might as well buy this one instead since it will be released on BluRay more than likely.

You know FUNimation, this idea of releasing multiple versions of a  series after everyone bought it already (almost all your recent BluRay releases) is started to piss me off. Just letting you know that.

as for DB Kai, it is a remastered into HD release with the fillers removed and the saturation increased to make it look better. The Japanese audio is also re-recorded. Not meant for the DB purist, but what the hell, I wasn’t one to begin with. May have seen all the DBZ episodes, but I grew quite bored during the “OH SHIT! HIS POWER LEVEL IS GROWING AGAIN SO I WILL STAND HERE STARING UNTIL HE CAN BEAT ME” (I’m looking at you Frieza). So maybe I will re-watch it like this.

Eden of The East the Movie II: Paradise Lost Trailer Posted

The second movies trailer is now up after the movie being delayed to add in an extra 30 minutes of footage.

Here is the link to the trailer for all to watch it.

I know the first movie was a retelling of the series, but I am not sure if the second is a continuation of that or if it is a proper sequel. I guess we will find out soon enough though since the movie starts showing in Japanese theaters on March 13, 2010.
