Mayoi Neko Overrun Promo Posted Online

For a quick explanation of what the show is about, go to my earlier post here.

You can also watch the promo here.

Animation quality looks pretty good, and there are a lot of colors. But, I can’t say if I will like it just yet. There seems to be a tsundere in it, which is always a plus in my opinion. Plus, it has cats.

Currently, it is set to start airing in April of next year, so there are still a few months before you can watch this.

Mayoi Neko Overrun To Be Kentaro Yabuki’s Next Manga

Back when To Love-Ru ended it’s run, I had assumed that we wouldn’t get anymore manga of it’s  type form the Yabuki, I was expecting him to go in a new direction. Well, I was wrong, he is once again doing a harem romance manga.

Mayoi Neko Overrun is based on the light novel of the same name. A boy is living with his sister, but she’s not his sister, so I assume she is more like a childhood friend, or maybe it’s similar to Kiss X Sis’s story and she is his step sister. Either way, they aren’t related by blood. One day, this guy one day finds a girl to bring home to his sister/not sister who owns a pastry shop. I’m sure you can figure out the rest. They both start loving him, he loves them both, they force him to choose, etc. etc.

So, you have a new manga to read eventually. Also, there is an anime being made of it at the same time too, so people that like to read while watching TV will have something as well.

Sekirei And Both Seasons Tetsuwan Birdy Decode Acquired By FUNimation

Sekirei is about this loser named Minato who finds out he has the power to attract like, 108 hot chicks to his side and they some how awaken his true power after that. That is all I know. It sounds almost like Pokemon, but with girls and they will probably hit Minato a lot for him being a pervert or something.

Tetsuwan Birdy Decode on the other hand sounds like it may be good. Birdy is part of the space police who trave from planet to planet fighting crime. One day she accidentally kills an Earth boy and takes his soul into her body so they can coexist since he would otherwise die. They now live together in her body, but she takes over when she is in her Decode form. All this is happening while the boy’s body heals over time.

Both are set for a DVD release sometime in 2010.

My Thoughts On Seitokai no Ichizon

SeitokaiRight now, I am only 1 episode in, but it is alright. Seems like it just wants to be the next Lucky Star or Hayate no Gotoku. Thoguh, it kinda fails, while at the same time it does alright. The way it fails is mostly in the trying to hard department.

By trying to hard, I mean it really tries to hard. Throughout the whole first episode, one of the main jokes they play throughout is the one making fun of harem anime every chance they get. While funny, I see it growing old if that is the one they use all the time. All the other jokes are either barely mentioned, or go by so fast, you may have to rewind to hear it correctly.

Video wise, it was lackluster. The colors were dull, the animation was almost non existent at times, and the character designs could be a little better. Taking place in the same room for 98% of the episode, you almost never see a change in the backdrop. Some may see it as saving money on a relatively unknown anime based on a manga that no one ever even expected an anime from, I see it as laziness. Though, this laziness could work to there advantage if the later episodes are able to keep the humor high enough without overdoing the jokes.

Audio wise, it was the same as any other anime you get from a fansub group. Not too great, but not completely horrible. As for the VAs, some of them were kinda sucky, but others did their role decently. I don’t know if the point was to make fun of VAs in general when they suck, but it can be kinda annoying if you just watched something like Higashi no Eden or another great anime. Also, the music, if it existed, sucked too. I don’t remember it, so I probably tuned it out for sucking.

Overall, it has potential, but if the director stays like he was for the first episode, I don’t see many wanting to watch more that 4 episodes before going back to another anime gag anime.

Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaō Getting Anime

coverIchiban Ushiro no Daimaō is going to get an anime sometime in the future, I’m not sure when though.

Announced earlier through a jacket insert of the 7th volume of the light novel, nothign else was said. Really, there is no information on cast, company, or even a date. We are left in the dark about what to expect in terms of a quality transition from words to anime.

The story is about a guy that is supposed to end up being the Devil King. Well, of course with any magical story thing book, he has like 4 girls after him since this is a book from Japan. A girl that “hates”, a girl that wants his body, and an android girl. So, in a way, its like Zero no Tsukaima I guess.

Uchurei’s First Episode Up Now

mainDo you want to see an anime about a guy who has a pet alien ghost that possesses him? Then go here and watch the first 3 minute episode.

I finished watching it not too long ago, and it was weird. I don’t expect to keep watching it since it made little sense, the art style was bad, and the rest wasn’t that great either. Though, it is an internet anime series anyways, so  I can’t expect to much.
