IT’S SUMMER!

Or rather, it will be in roughly 24 hours because of the summer solstice. But who give a flying dogs ass about that detail. It’s hot, people are doing things outside, and old people aren’t saying it’s too cold anymore (instead it’s my brother). But the main thing is that I graduated from high school 5 days ago. I officially started my adult life then, but it hasn’t been much different since I still have no job, I still play video games all the time, and I still spend a majority of my money on anime. Today alone, I spent $175, so I really need a job since it is hard to keep my pockets full with no income of my own.

Now then, who is excited about it being summer? Other than the fact that I am not in school anymore, I hate summer. It’s hot, the sun is too bright since my eyes dilate at what has to be the slowest speed possible. I walk out and it all looks like someone turned the bloom effect to max. Can’t see shit. Can’t wait for Fall and Winter though since I start college, which may or may not be any better than high school, but I can hope. Also, it will be cold, which is better to me since 72 degrees is hot to me.

I just realized something, it is 12AM, maybe I should start watching TV now. Oh well, I will be back tomorrow, and sorry if this makes no sense since I don’t plan to re-read it for mistakes or  coherency.

My Thoughts On: Arakawa Under The Bridge

Pictures will be added later.

Arakawa Under The Bridge is this seasons weirdest show. Everyone on their is mentally disabled I think and the setting is under a bridge. But, it all works out and I found it to be quite funny, if not mostly because of the WTF factor of the show.

Right from the beginning, you meet the main character Kou Ichinomiya. His father taught him as a child to never be in debt to someone. Though, his methods were rather different. From the screwed up childhood, he learned how to live for himself. But soon, this fear of being in debt to someone has landed him as the lover of some weird girl who lives under a bridge. Nothing in this show has made sense so far, but that is why it is so great.

Throughout the first episode, I laughed my ass off at the randomness. The first scene has our main character wearing no pants because he was attacked by children. No explanation is given as to why they attacked him, it just happened.  Or the girl who swears she is from Venus. It all adds up be great.

Artwork is definitely something you would expect from Shaft. It’s kind of a mix of Maria Holic and Sayonara Zetsubous Sensei art wise. Not to fancy, but some unique choices for different designs. Though, you will notice some similar movements to Itoshiki from Zetsubou Sensei. But I don’t mind if it is kinda reused because they only use it for one time and it is used correctly.

The VAs do quite well, even though there were only 4 total in the first episode. When Kou is surprised, you can tell. And the relatively monotone sound of Nino shines through to give her that carefree feeling. There wasn’t much background music, not that it is needed since this is a show based around the weird characters instead of music. If you want a music anime, watch K-ON!! instead.

Overall, this is a pretty good show, and if you want something to truly start off the season, I recommend this. It is one of the better first epis this season too, which is a good thing.

4.5/5

My Thoughts On: Kiss×sis Episode 1

From the scene above, I knew I was in for something I saw 3 times before on the Kiss×sis OVAs. The problem is, I didn’t stop watching and once again enjoyed watching as Keita was molested by his not-blood related sisters Riko and Ako.

My Thoughts On: B Gata H Kei Episode 1

Summary: A girl in high school plans to sex up like 100 guys. Hmm, sounds just like people at South Lenoir High School.

So yeah, I guess this scene right above should have been  a sign of what was to come in this simply horrendous anime of the season. I never laughed during the whole  episode. I feel like I was in a coma during the whole thing since none of it was funny to me. Normally I find these awkward sexual situation fan-service shows good in some fashion, but this was just BLAARRGGHHGS! through  the whole thing. I mean shit, wtf did I watch was all I could think at then end. For the rest of this post, hit the link below.

Spice and Wolf II, Eden Of The East Movies, And Chobits Licensed By FUNimation

Well, not too long ago today, FUNi announced 3 more acquisitions. Spice and Wolf II, Eden of the East movies, and Chobits (rescue) were all licensed.

Currently, they are all set for release in 2011 on DVD and BluRay.

Damn, even  a year long wait for a rescued title? FUNi is seriously going to have to start speeding up since Sentai is so fast and is becoming more and more popular.

Eden of The East the Movie II: Paradise Lost Trailer Posted

The second movies trailer is now up after the movie being delayed to add in an extra 30 minutes of footage.

Here is the link to the trailer for all to watch it.

I know the first movie was a retelling of the series, but I am not sure if the second is a continuation of that or if it is a proper sequel. I guess we will find out soon enough though since the movie starts showing in Japanese theaters on March 13, 2010.

Big Windup! Season 2 Greenlit

The baseball anime that I have been meaning to buy for a while so I could watch it is getting a second season next spring. Announced on the dust jacket of the 13th volume of the manga, Big Windup! (Ookiku Furikabutte) will be getting a second season for all to watch.

That’s all the information that is available at the moment though…

What the hell kind of announcement is that? Nothing else to go along with it? Okay, I guess it will do for now.

FUNimation has released the first season in 2 parts, you can buy it at RightStuf right now.
